How Web Site Design is Done
Despite the fact that every web design or new media project is different, the process of getting them done is really quite a standard approach. Alpha Dog follows the model used by a home construction crew.
The first thing that is created, after all of the preliminary meetings take place, is the Design Document. A Design Document is essentially the blueprint of the project. It documents the way the project will be assembled from start to finish, as well as what the project is going to look like. This is a very detailed document which insures that all involved are "on the same page." This Design Document is built based on the Alpha Dog web.Review report.
Once the Design Document is approved by you, we will move on the the Alpha Release stage. In the construction metaphor, this is the framing of the project. We will build a version of your project that includes little to no content. This version allows you to click through the project structure and see if the navigation is intuitive and friendly. For web sites, the Alpha Release is staged on our client test site so that you can review your project at any time. For CD-ROM or DVD projects, we will burn an Alpha Release and send it to you for review.
Finally, once all review and revisions are completed, a Beta version is prepared. This is typically the major programming portion of the project. It is similar to running the plumbing or electrical systems for a home builder. This step adds the guts to the project. When completed, your project is delivered or staged for your review. This is the final project but we release it in Beta Release status for one last testing period. This is the last chance for any modifications before final delivery. |
